Sydney Roosters teen sensation Joseph Suaalii has declared: “I feel like I’m ready for the NRL.”
“But I know there are a lot of steps I need to take to get to that point,” Suaalii told the Herald on Monday morning.
“I’m just taking it all in, I’m learning from the older boys, learning from ‘Robbo’ [coach Trent Robinson], but I feel like I’m ready - physically and mentally - for the NRL.”
Suaalii, the most-hyped 17-year-old in Australian sport, was greeted by a giant media scrum at Roosters HQ. Rather than put him in front of up to a dozen TV cameras, Suaalii conducted a round of three-minute one-on-one interviews.
