The trans-Tasman vegan fast food kingdom of Lord of the Fries is under fire in Perth where the franchise is being sued for close to $1 million for allegedly vacating a CBD shopfront with two years left on the lease.
West Australian property developer and pharmacy guru Jeff Leach has lodged a writ in the state’s Supreme Court seeking damages of $941,343 from Lord of the Fries Property Pty Ltd as the franchise promotes a move to the next suburb over in the entertainment precinct of Northbridge.

Mr Leach, as landlord, claims Lord of the Fries Property Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of LOTF Global Pty Ltd where co-founders and brothers Mark and Sam Koronczyk are directors, vacated the William Street shop he had leased the company on May 6 with rent and outgoings worth $110,187 still owed.
According to the writ lodged on Monday, Lord of the Fries had signed on to an eight-year lease in 2015 but allegedly left about two weeks after being served with a default notice.
Mr Leach said the lessee had not paid any money owed for the notice nor the lease.
He is claiming 2½ years of potential lost rent, which would be worth $791,324, alongside other damages.
