Cooper “assumes” he has been given the green light to retain his spot at No. 10 on Saturday, despite the match falling outside World Rugby’s international window.

Beyond that, the 33-year-old wouldn’t commit when asked if he would join his teammates in the UK next week.

“Right now, I’m not 100 per cent sure. There are conversations still happening behind the scenes, between the Wallabies and Kintetsu,” Cooper said.

“As I said, I’ve really enjoyed the past eight to 10 weeks in this setup, and it’s been a great opportunity to learn and continue to grow. Our club is a club that’s ambitious and really looking to grow and move through the Japanese ranks. The valuable information I’ve been able to learn, I look forward to taking that back at some point.

“They’re my employer and I have the utmost respect for them. Whenever I’m due back, I’ll follow whatever’s asked of me.”

Meanwhile, Moana Pasifika have unveiled their latest star signing – former Wallabies prop Sekope Kepu.

The 35-year-old will join Christian Lealiifano at the foundation franchise next season.
