Similarly, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and Starbucks have all ceased operations in the country. Closer to home, pokies operator Aristocrat said on Wednesday it would suspend operating its mobile games in Russia, and last week major drinks retailers all removed Russian-made vodkas from shelves.

Local superannuation funds have also divested hundreds of millions of dollars in Russian assets, and Australia’s two largest fuel suppliers, Ampol and Viva Energy, have ruled out purchasing any new orders of Russian-made crude oil.

A spokesperson for ASX-listed online marketplace Redbubble, which allows artists anywhere to sell their designs, said its payments in and out of Russia were disrupted currently, and that Russian content consisted of “less than one per cent” of the business conducted on the platform.

However, the marketplace is currently looking for ways to support Ukrainian artists who use the platform and was ensuring that payments continued to flow through.

“We are working on ways to feature and support Ukrainian artists, while ensuring that payments continue to reach them. Redbubble is also looking at sales of content supporting Ukraine and will be making a donation to relief efforts that have an immediate impact in the region,” the spokesperson said.

“Redbubble does not have staff in either country but our hearts and minds are with the Ukrainian people during these devastating times.”

Kathmandu has also halted shipping to distributors in Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict. One Ukrainian online store that stocks Rip Curl goods recently said in a post on Instagram it had been providing clothes and shoes to Ukraine soldiers in their defence against Russian forces, and that employees had been out fighting against the invasion.
