Would be nice if Apple finally started to address retro-compatibility with this generation of chips. They should make them capable of running Intel-based applications, and maybe even PPC-based applications. (Lord knows, I put enough $$ into those) Tired of having to buy all new software every time Apple decides it's time to completely change architecture again. (like, every five years or so) How about it Apple? Can we finally have retro-compatibility?

And those M1 Extreme models will sell maybe a little under 10k units at best. They are too expensive for what they are and is equivalent to using a Xeon for common web development.
base M1/M2 models is where the money is. If you want to try Apple's implementation, the Mac Mini with M2 will be the one to go for.
