Lions star Hugh McCluggage spoke to Channel Seven post game.

It is great to hear the supporters up and about. It has been a shaky couple of weeks, how important was the win tonight?

Huge. We fought it out to the end and it was close all night, but we played our brand, it was low scoring and really pleasing.

What do you mean by playing your brand?

Just the ability to apply pressure and get it going forward. We probably have been using it and turning it over in bad areas, so we just wanted to get it in.

Was there much talk about St Kilda being down two backs for much of this second half? Did you continue talking about how to run and outwork there?

Definitely, we were coming off a six-day break, but they were coming off the bye, so we wanted to keep working our way through the game, and we can run out the game really well and were able to do that.

Your midfield crew look pretty good today. Yourself, Lachie Neale and Jarryd Lyons, out on the wing, it all worked out?

I think we are starting to click. A few boys are playing different roles. We did the defensive part well today and everything came from that.
