“It was unwarranted criticism after the first game but that just shows what a champion player he is,” Tedesco told Channel Nine.

“He comes back out in game two and puts on a clinic with a lot of pressure on him. We were a lot hungrier. We spoke about that during the week. We had to be more brutal, more hungry, there was no second chances this time.

“I felt like we came out and we did that. Our discipline let us down in the first half but that second half was really pleasing.

“It was probably a bit too structured in that first half, but in the second half we just played footy. Everyone was pushing for each other, genuine support, offloads ... that’s when opportunities come, off the back of that.”
