A man and woman charged over the shooting death of another man in Melbourne’s inner-north will remain behind bars.

Duc Nguyen, 43, and Scarlett Curham, 21, appeared by video link in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.

Their lawyers did not apply for bail.

Both individuals were charged with murder after a 55-year-old man was shot dead in a Fitzroy street on Tuesday afternoon.

Curham’s lawyer, Ayla Dodson, told the court her client was not accused of being the shooter and her involvement in the offence was “very unknown”.

She said Curham was withdrawing from drugs and her mental state was rapidly declining as she had not been given anti-psychotic medication since she was arrested on Wednesday.

“She was not in a position to be interviewed due to the nature of her withdrawal issues,” Dodson told the court.

Magistrate Graham Keil said he would ensure Curham was given urgent medical attention, medication and psychological assessment.
