A spokesperson from Meta, Facebook’s parent company, said: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble with their Facebook Feed. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
In October 2021, Meta services Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp went down for almost six hours globally.
The outage was called by a maintenance malfunction that disrupted communication between Facebook’s data centres. At the time, Facebook’s stock price plunged by 5 per cent, wiping $8.4 billion off chief executive Mark Zuckerberg’s personal wealth.
