It’s been a rough week for Elmo, who went viral on X (formerly Twitter) after simply asking users how they were feeling. Apparently, people were not OK, and Elmo was suddenly flooded with messages of existential dread.

When David appeared on Today, he told the hosts no questions were off-limits. That is unless they involved Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, making David perhaps the only person on the planet who doesn’t want to talk about the powerhouse couple.

Before his interview began, David told the show’s producers that questions about Swift and Kelce were banned. So, when one of the hosts proceeded to ask him about them, a visibly annoyed David said he had used the “S-word once before on this show” and wasn’t afraid to use it again. Instead, he simply said he “doesn’t give a schnoodle” about the couple.

Interview etiquette

David has been rather frank with interviewers recently, making it difficult to determine where his fictional alter ego ends and the real Larry begins.

Speaking to Variety’s Marc Malkin at the season 12 premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, David showed zero interest in the reporter’s questions.

When reminded of the fact that David had previously announced Curb’s ending only to return again, David merely said: “I said it before, but I wasn’t 76 when I said it.” He also challenged Malkin’s use of the word “tour” when describing the actor’s upcoming live show, A Conversation with Larry David.

“I’m doing two appearances, so what? A tour? What, am I on a bus now?”

David had clearly had enough by this point and, warm as ever, proceeded to repeat, “Are we done?” before walking away. “Where’s my HBO representative? We’re done with him [Malkin], right?”

Plastic surgery gone wrong

To promote his upcoming live shows in Boston and Washington DC, the actor released a statement in typical David fashion: drenched in sarcasm.

“Hi everyone! It’s Larry. I’m really looking forward to seeing you all. Just so you know, I’ve recently had plastic surgery on my face, and the doctor, who everyone raved about, totally botched it, leaving me devoid of all expression. So if I seem more sour than usual, that’s the reason, but don’t let it stop you from having fun!”

Some celebrities go out swinging, David is going out sour. We should have expected nothing less.
