Finally, Australia is having a bit more luck against Canada.

Fresh off the Opals defeating Canada in the women’s basketball a few hours ago, Australia’s women’s beach volleyball team have just downed the Canucks in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower.

(Earlier in the week, the Boomers and our women’s rugby sevens side both went down to Canada on the same brutal day).

As a result of today’s beach volleyball win, the Australian duo of Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy finish with two wins and one loss in pool B, which should see them progress to the elimination part of the draw.

Meanwhile, Laura Paeglis was eliminated in the women’s individual archery after losing 6-4 to France’s Caroline Lopez.
