On Wednesday 5 December, ANZ and the Brotherhood of St Laurence released their latest study into Saver Plus, Australia's largest matched savings and financial education program, which found that participants continued to save beyond completing the program, were better equipped to deal with unexpected expenses, and were more confident in dealing with banks. Since 2003, more than 16,000 people have participated in the program. Saver Plus was developed by ANZ and the Brotherhood of St Laurence in 2002 and is delivered in partnership with The Smith Family, The Benevolent Society, Berry Street and other local community organisations. The program is funded by ANZ and the Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
