At a venue that has historically been barren for the St Kilda Football Club, the Saints took advantage of a vastly under-strength Carlton to record a 92-point pre-season victory at the Blues' spiritual home.

Saints forward Josh Bruce was among those to get a confidence boost ahead of the premiership season by slotting home 7.1 in the JLT Community Series match at Princes Park.
Scores were level approaching time-on in the first quarter but between that point and the 12-minute mark of the last term the Saints dominated the inside 50s and converted their chances accordingly as they progressively edged towards the prospect of a 100-point victory.
That didn't quite happen in the end, however, as the Saints won 18.14 (122) to 4.6 (30).
The Blues went in without a host of their leading players, deciding to leave out the likes of Bryce Gibbs, Marc Murphy, Kade Simpson and Matthew Kruezer.
Similarly, the Saints were without some of their key players, including spearhead Nick Riewoldt, but the absence of Carlton's best was more telling.
Carlton managed two of their goals in the opening stanza but thereafter scoring chances were few and far between. Nick Graham slotted home their final goal at the 12-minute mark of the final term but it was an eternity between drinks.
More to come
