"Chris has held leadership positions with two of rugby’s most successful organisations in the All Blacks and the Chiefs and brings a wealth of knowledge to the role," Brumbies chief executive Michael Thomson said.

"I am certain that Chris will become an integral part of the Brumbies as we strive to claim our third Super Rugby title."

Tindall said his goal was to further build the Brumbies with the aim of ending their 14-year title drought.

"The positive direction and progression that the Brumbies have made on and off the field is impressive," he said.

"The aim is to continue to build on, and contribute to, further Brumbies success towards winning the Super Rugby championship."
