A whale has been freed after it became trapped in shark nets on the Gold Coast on Sunday.
Rescuers from Sea World and The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries' marine animal rescue team were able to free the whale from where it was trapped off Currumbin.

Seven News footage showed it was unable to move comfortably as it floated and rose up to breach before lowering itself back into the water.
Last month, a juvenile humpback whale was freed after being caught in Gold Coast shark nets for at least three hours off Main Beach.
