Group 1-winning trainer Henry Dwyer has decided Ballarat will become the new home for his stable from as early as the middle of next year.

With Caulfield set to cease as a training facility in 2023, Dwyer last week begun the excavation and building process at Ballarat with plans to relocate his 40 horses in about six months' time.

"Whilst in an ideal world we would have loved to continue training at Caulfield given its history, outstanding facilities and the success and growth we've achieved since beginning there in 2013, obviously this is not possible," Dwyer shared in an email to his clients on Monday.

"To that end, it's been decided that training at Ballarat aligns best strategically with our business model going forward, and in conjunction with our beach property at St Leonards, we feel no trainer will be better equipped to maximise a horse's ability and achieve the best outcomes for our owners."
